While training for my fitness competition, I had to find a fun way to jazz up boring, watery tuna. I love Oasis products because the products are all natural and I enjoy the health benefits from the Mediterranean diet; so, I decided to infuse the taste with my tuna for a protein punch! I recently whipped up this refreshing recipe on Rebecca Regnier’s Full Plate and it was a definite taste explosion! Whether you are looking for a healthy way to bring life into your tuna or a high protein meal to add to your weight training session, I know you will love my recipe for Mediterranean tuna!
Erika’s Mediterranean Tuna
1-2 pouches of Chunk Light Tuna in Water (any brand)
4-6 boiled egg whites, chopped
1/3 cup of finely chopped onion
1 tablespoon of mustard
2 tablespoons of Oasis Mediterranean Garlic Sauce
1 tablespoon Oasis Mediterranean Cuisine Taboule Salad
2 tablespoons Oasis All Natural Tomato Bruschetta
Mix well and serve on toasted Ezekiel bread, serve with vegetables, or eat with fresh vegetables!
NOTES from Erika
- The garlic sauce takes the place of mayo with less than a 1/3 of the calories of mayo and with the added benefits of garlic.
- The taboule takes the place of pickle with only 1 gram of sugar and packed with vitamin A & C! The bruschetta gives the tuna extra flavor and that Mediterranean taste!
- Don’t be afraid to add a tablespoon or cut back according to your taste buds! If you enjoy olives, add a few tablespoons of drained, sliced olives to your tuna.
