Dee’s Roasted Green Beans

 

This recipe rocks as a fresh new way to put a spin on your favorite veggies! Dee Reinhart shared this recipe with our site and we had to share it with you.  It is the easiest way to prepare the best tasting green beans, picky kid approved! Replace that mushy, green bean casserole with tender crisp green beans roasted to perfection…and for an extra “zip” we topped ours with low-fat shredded parmesan cheese. The best part is that you can season them however you like! Try adding crushed red pepper, garlic, or even sliced almonds.

Ingredients

1 1/2 pounds fresh green beans

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon kosher salt

1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper 

1/4 tsp garlic powder

Directions

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F

Trim the ends of the green beans and add to a large bowl.

Toss with the extra-virgin olive oil, salt and pepper and spread out evenly on a foil or parchment lined baking sheet

Place baking sheet on the lower third section of your oven

Roast, stirring once halfway through, until lightly caramelized and crisp tender, 12 to 15 minutes

For best results, serve them immediately out of the oven
